Sims 4 update causing issues with mods

Hi, so I am not a very computer capable person, but I finally figured out how to download mods and everything for Sims 4. I have a macbook and the clothing/hair/lots/mods that I downloaded all worked before the new update. Then when the update happened, the wicked whims mod stopped working, which is the first thing i noticed. So I redownloaded it and it still didnt work. So then I tried moving all of the mods and tray info to new folders just to hold onto them and then uninstalled and reinstalled both origin and sims 4 to my computer, and then i moved the mods back into the mod folder and now sims 4 crashes when i open it. does anyone have any suggestions on how to work with this? i have so many mods that it would be so hard to just give up and start over by redownloading them all. please and thank you!

Wait for updates to your Mods and CC before trying to play with it.

There's an option in the game setting they allows you to tirn the mods back on, because it gets turned off when the game updates. Try going into "Other," turning the mod option back on, and restarting
  • ive done that, the problem is that when i add the mods back to the mod folder the game wont even open anymore, it just crashes

  • UPDATE ON SITUATION:

i've added back all of the items to the tray folder and then started the game and it did not crash.

then i added back only a handful of mods and restarted the game and it worked. i did this a couple more times, adding a few and then restarting the game, and it worked but now its back to no matter how many i add at a time the game will crash.

has this happened to anyone? maybe it just cant accept that many new things at a time?

i did originally download all those mods over time, not all at once.

  • I've had mods in my game for around two years now and it has run very smoothly with no issues up until now. I seem to have the same problem that the loading screens aren't actually loading and the plumbob is spinning endlessly while I wait for hours for my game to load. ☹️

Remove those mods that caused it to break again.
