Sims 4 update stuck on preparing

Hi. I'm on PC. and Ive tried SO many things now.  removed the cache on the app, restarted the computer, EA app online and offline, Ive tried to cansle the download of the update, and even trie...

Easiest thing to try is to end the EA process (via Task Manager) and then reopen EA app as admin (go to Start menu, right click on the app in the menu, select More then Run as Administrator).  That seems to work for me as mine would sit in preparing for ages without doing anything.  Once I did that, the download started immediately.  It's a problem with the EA app, not the game, so your mods/cc won't be causing this issue.
