Sims 4 update

I have the sims 4 downloaded onto my laptop. I just bought an expansion pk get to work and its telling me i need to update my base game, ive done that but it is still telling my to update my game? Please help so excited to play and need help with this update!!!

    Did you try to reinstall the whole game?

    If you are going to do that, don't forget to backup your saves

    @mzofficial25

    Before going as far as reinstalling as suggested by @Mielosh, can you right click the game tile in Origin and select Repair Game?
