Sims 4 updated and auto turned off CC, How do I get it back right?

So in more detail, I know when The Sims updates it turns off the CC and you can just turn it back on...... My problem is when I turned the CC back on; of course you have to then restart the game........

    It looks like if you save the game without CC then this will remain as it was. You needed only to leave the game after enabled CC and never ever open the save at this moment! I'm really sorry for you but it looks, that you have to do it manually.
    If you have an earlier safe then you could go back to it, but then you will lose all progress in the game.
