Sims 4 won't install
Installing of the sims 4 is not working. I have a paid copy with expansions that i've played without issues over the years. It does not give me an error code, just suggests i try later. EA, origin a...
@Shortono What message do you see when you try to install Sims 4 through the EA App? There are a couple of known errors with installing Sims 4.
The Steam "you don't have access" error seems to be a current issue across many EA games owned in Steam. Given how suddenly it appeared, it might disappear soon too; these types of issues do tend to be cleared up rather quickly. So the easiest path might be waiting a few hours to a day for the Steam version to start working. But if that doesn't happen, you'd rather play through the EA App, let me know about the App's download error.
@rojmeister1 I've merged your post with another thread covering the same issues. Please see the above.
There are no error codes, just suggests i try later. this is also what i find so frustrating.
In the steam version it suggested my version was not compatible, because my EA play version is the digital deluxe (?)
@Shortono I understand there's no error code, but I was asking about an error message. There are a few common EA App error messages that don't all mean the same thing.
The Steam issue has its own master thread now:
As you can see, a number of games are affected, and EA is looking into the issue.
I can't reproduce it now, so sorry that I cannot add the error message. After my last attempts the install seemed to go through but was not downloading anything.
I cancelled it all, started to install through steam, stopped the download and turned off my machine. After about 12 hours I turned it on again, tried to install though the EA app (which worked, with the steam install being at about 80% or so) and I quickly uninstalled the steam version.
Now the game works, but I don't know what solved the issue, my apologies to people reading this later.
@Shortono The Steam error seems to have been resolved, and the EA App error may have been as well, although there were fewer reports so I'm not entirely sure. At any rate, the important thing is that your game works. And there's no need to apologize; the error message would have been for the purpose of helping you, and you don't need that help now.
