EA not recognising Steam install

I uninstalled Sims 4 and all my DLC for various reasons and wanted to restart with a fresh install. I have reinstalled through Steam.

I have various DLC through Steam and EA.

I have logged back into the EA app via my Steam account, yet EA does not see that I have the Sims 4 installed and when I try to re-download my DLC packs held with EA, I just get a note to say that I need to install the base game to do it.

Can anyone help?

  • ohxdebug  Can you currently launch the game through Steam, without needing to repair?  Did you install Sims 4 into the default location for Steam games or create a new folder?  This is the default:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4

If that's not the issue, please repair the game through Steam (Sims 4 > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of the game files) and launch it once, then see whether the EA App recognizes your install.  If not, please let me know what antivirus you use.
