@dreamyjenn I think that is the UAC acting stupid. Go to control panel - security and maintenance - change user account control settings. Turning UAC off is NOT recommended. There you can adjust it or turn it off. Does your Windows user login have administrator rights? Is there a reason you are running Citrix? Have you checked to see if there are any Windows updates?
- 5 years ago@roberta591 I am running Citrix for a work-from-home position. It's required software. It could be the problem but I don't know where to start to try and fix it.
I have separate user accounts for my personal stuff and work. The personal account has administrator rights. I tried turning off UAC like you described and the issue persists, just without the "do you want to allow" popup. I just installed a Windows update yesterday.- roberta5915 years agoHero (Retired)
@dreamyjenn I only mention Citrix because some users have reported issues with Windows 10 games and Citrix. As you just installed a Windows update you can try repairing the game in Origin, reboot the computer then try the game. I saw a video driver for Citrix and that may be crashing the game from starting. I recommend you don't try anything with Citrix as you may break it. I think the game is detecting the Citrix Workspace Hub as the display device (all though virtual) is not supported by the game (my opinion). If Citrix is required for work and you are a casual Windows user, I recommend you leave Citrix alone so as not to break it and you can't work. I am not familiar with Citrix but I have seen several posts on Steam about Citrix and I am not sure if those solutions will work for you. IMO the only way to test if Citrix is causing the issue is to disable and/or uninstall Citrix. and see if this solves the issue.
