Sims 4 Won't Launch.

So, I had to come on the forum because it seems like EA is blocking me from using live chat and told me to call them instead, which is unfortunate considering I am deaf...

Back to the point, I need help with launching Sims 4. I've followed instructions on clearing cache as well as repairing the program. Neither worked. I've also noticed that it says GPU 0 next to the Origin in the task manager, I don't know if that could be the culprit. I've attached the screenshot of my task manager. Before you tell me to do the graphic upgrade, I've already done it.

Edit:

I also want to add that it happened after I downloaded mods, deleted localthumbnail, and installed Reshade 4 & reshade preset, and placed them in my game bin folder that is located in D:/ (I've changed the location of the Document folder to D:/ and it has worked before so..). And, I found out that that reshade preset only works for the oldest version of Reshade, so that would not be compatible for this current version. I followed the instructions on how to uninstall Reshade. Sims 4 still wouldn't launch even after all of this.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  • @swanfoodie  I've moved your thread to the Sims 4 PC tech section.

Please move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.  Then launch the game, which will create a clean folder with no content.   Try to start a new save and have a look around to see how the game runs; let me know how it works.

If you still can't run the game, or if you get crashes or other significant issues, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

P.S.  It's normal for Origin to not use your GPU much, at least after Origin has initially loaded.
