Trouble Getting Into My Game
I click on the EA App, like normal. Nothing happens. I tried again. While I get the notice the app has been minimized, I don't see it on the bar at all. In fact, the game itself isn't opening up, although it claims it is open. I have nothing on my screen to verify this. Ho-hum. I just wanted to play my game today to see what antics my Sims will be about today.
I believe it was Thursday in my game when I last played, which was yesterday. Love Day is Friday. Now, that my Sim has been cured of his Emotional Void ailment, he very much wants to take his wife out.
Their fourth child will be aging up on Saturday and Sunday is the Starlight Accolades. My Sim is nominated.
As you can see, I have a lot on my plate, which won't be cleared unless or until I can get into my game. Gr.
Today is hot, AC is on the fritz, and I just needed the distraction. Of course. Isn't that how it always works?
I uninstalled the App and reinstalled, so I can't figure out just what is wrong.
Any suggestions, please?
GalacticGal As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, or rename it if it's easier. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.
I realize that the whole point is to play with your main sims, but it's important to find out whether the game is not working in general, or only with your current user data.
If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
