Sims 4 won't load with CC

When I have CC in my mods folder, an error message pops up. I don't think it's a specific mod causing this issue, because I've tried putting in different mods by themselves and my game still won't load, but I have no idea what else it could be. I've tried re-installing Sims 4, clearing the Origin and Sims 4 cache, renaming the Sims 4 folder (in \Documents\Electronic Arts) to 'The Sims 4 old', and removing the mods folder.  I don't have any script mods, only CC.
