Sims 4 won't load/open

Recently, I wanted to play the Sims 4 again, and I have been having issues getting the game to start. When I open the game, it opens to a windowed screen that is all white and doesn't allow me to close or maximize the tab. It will also occasionally flash to a black screen. I have tried uninstalling both EA and the Sims 4, I removed my mods, I cleared the cache, and have moved the EA folder to my desktop so that a new one is made when I open the game. Here is my DxDiag, and I am appreciative of any help. Thank you!

I don't know if this is helpful or not but I have also tried repairing the game multiple times.

For the Sims 4 issue, please please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, if you can get that far.

If that doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to open Sims 4.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

Thank you for the advice. I did the "perfmon /rel" and did get an error so here's that information. As for the Origin problem, I don't believe I have Origin installed at the moment so I don't know why that would be popping up as an error. Thanks again!

  • clouds9606  This is a crash of the graphics driver, and it would certainly explain why Sims 4 isn't working.  Your currently-installed driver is somewhat old, and Dell offers a newer one for your laptop:

    https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-us/product/inspiron-17-3793-laptop/drivers

You can sort by Category and look for the Intel video driver, which is dated May 13.  Download the driver and run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

You can use this site to check for newer drivers in general too, in particular by clicking This Device and entering your service tag.  But please manually install the graphics driver first.

When I try to download the driver it comes up with a message saying no driver was found that can be installed on the current device. I downloaded the intel one from May 13.
