Sims crashes on launch- please help me

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice, updated my graphics drivers, turned off windows defense, checked windows defense if it's blocking ts4 (its not), Idk what else to do ☹️

Please please please please help me I just want to play the sims.

its defo not my PC as I have pretty good specs.

Thankyou 🙂

  • @MopLops  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@puzzlezaddictHello! I'm having a similar issue to OP and I'd like to comment that after I did your instructions of dropping my folder on my desktop, the game will play now! Is there any way to get my save data back but keep the game running? Thank you so much ahead of time!

@BluStorm180  You can move your saves from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one.  They're in the saves folder, naturally.

However, if you use any mods or custom content, please test that first in the clean folder, as that may be the reason you couldn't play.  Use the 50/50 method if you have a lot of files:

Once you've sorted out the Mods folder, move over the saves as well as the contents of Tray (saved households and builds), plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those.  The rest can be discarded.
