Sims crashing every 2-5 minutes

my game keep crashing and lagging to the point my whole computer turns off. I play on a windows 10 laptop and i cant even get a save fully loaded before it crashes. if it does load, it crashes again and shuts off my laptop. I tried repairing it and deleting the local thumb cache document in my sims 4 folder, but the game still crashes. it is near impossible to play. I do not play with mods or cc, so that is not the issue.
