Sims Game Failing to Launch. . . Sometimes?

Ever since the patch released on 3/17/2026 -- I haven't been able to open my game at all. I've been getting that same failed launch message that states that the error is on EA's part and to come back and try again later. For the first two days  I was jumping through hoops trying to get my game to work. I have repaired the game countless times, deleted the cache, reinstalled, did a windows update, drivers update, tried the -dx9 or whatever that even means. I have run as administrator, I have tried running the sims 4 exe file in the game files itself. None of this was working. During this time, the sims direct communication account on twitter was telling us all that the problem was resolved -- so I really thought it was just a me problem. Unfortunately, but thankfully, many other people are also having this problem.

I've resulted in doing the 50/50 method with my CC. Luckily, I have all my CC organized so it hasn't been that bad for me. Yet, the CC that I tested to have worked, sometimes doesn't work. And the CC that I have deemed to not work, will sometimes launch anyways. This is despite having the error, I just keep trying over and over again and sometimes it will open. So It makes me feel like doing the 50/50 method is absolutely useless because there's no way of telling if something actually works or not.

I'm not one to ever really report my technical problems with the sims, and this is my first post ever on the forums. But this is honestly a little frustrating. Is it a problem with my CC like the sims team is actively blaming? Or is it a problem with the sims that they just aren't addressing? Why are CC creators the only one talking about this, and not the actual sims accounts? Every time they post, they keep saying everything is okay and working -- but the only people playing their game right now are the people who seemingly didn't update or don't have any sort of mods.

TLDR: I'm not really asking for help because my game is in a state where I can sometimes launch it and sometimes not. This is mainly just a report so the sims team can have a good estimate of how many people are having this problem.

This is more a vent now so no need to continue reading past this point. . . but. I have always been really supportive of the sims. I have bought all the DLC and even the kits, which is over thousands of dollars now, I hear. I have always felt really bad for the sims team because of how much hate they get. I can't imagine working for a company that receives so much hate and out of line vile comments... but now with this new update, I can't even open a game I have spent thousands of dollars on. Which is an insane sentence to say.

This new marketplace they have added is not at all ideal, or anything I have ever wanted for the sims. I understand wanting console players to have access to this huge part of the sims community, but forcing them to pay money for something that is free for everyone else just seems money hungry and greedy. I was never going to support the marketplace. And now because of this unwanted update, I cannot even launch the game. . . Sometimes.

(Not adding anything new to help fix the issue because I have nothing, just related to the venting part of xCaptainxCatx comm)
This is a huge mess and it's not on us and definitely not on mods creators. Creators are just passionate players of a game that does zero to appreciate them and their work, who release their stuff for other people to enjoy. At this point they're doing more than the game itself, which doesn't seem to listen to its players' wants and needs and cannot release a single DLC or patch that doesn't break something or isn't full of bugs.
This Marketplace bs isn't a way of trying to integrate console players, it's just another way of trying to make money behind a paywall with content created by players who will only see 30% of the revenue.
Really wish they would just start from scratch and fix the unfixable issues with ts4 instead of just adding to the pile of dirt.
