Sims I have not hired show up as chefs

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.62.67.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Every Expansion, Game, and Stuff up to Discover University. I have Realm of Magic but I forgot if that came before or after DU.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open a restaurant and hire employees, specifically a chef.
What happens when the bug occurs? I open the restaurant or visit the lot with a Sim. A Sim I have not hired shows up as the chef. They usually have no cooking skills. I can't fire them as they don't work there, and if I delete them from my game, another random townie shows up, never the Sim I set up to work there. Doesn't seem to happen in every restaurant.
What do you expect to see? I expect the Sims I have hired to show up for work.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Not sure what to put here. I'm only posting because I can't live chat EA.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • @RickxAbsinthe43 What kinds of mods have you been using and at what point did you remove them ? Does it matter which neighborhood the restaurant is in ?

Have you tested on a fresh save that never had any mods in to see if you have the same issue there ?

@crinrict I have MCCC, WW, I have Slice of Life, I may have some out of date mods and other NSFW mods that I'm not sure I can talk about here. I have a mod that allows me to choose any Sims I want to work at the restaurant. I took out my mods as soon as I realised it was happening to test it. I've noticed it only in Windenburg and San Myshuno. I had a restaurant in Newcrest and it didn't occur. I haven't tested a fresh unmodded save yet.

@crinrict I'm going to test that right now. I hope not, this mod has been a great help. I have a lot of restaurants and it helps to hire my Sims, but I'm testing it right now.

I forgot to repair, but the right chef indeed showed up after the factory reset. Host and waiter too! You're a lifesaver!
