Sims4 downloaded and in Game Library but it will not play when I hit Play button

Sims4 downloaded and in Game Library but it will not play when I hit Play button.  The hourglass spins for a few seconds and then that is it.  The game does not launch.  I have downloaded 3 times and...

Does the game show up in Task Manager and then disappear? Do you get any errors?

I am having the same problem.  I have Sims4 downloaded to my computer, which is more than capable to play it, but when I hit play it does nothing.  It just stays in the make a family mode.  NO error comes up, just nothing. 
I paid a lot of money for this game and now it won't work.  Very frustrated!
Someone please help!
