SIMS4 Update loop>update required>verifying game files ok>play>loop starts over

My SIMS4 required an update and i also added the outdoors add-on. The update installed. I then select play and a prompt says upate required. I select update, it then says veirfying files (files show verified 100%). i then close the update requirted box. I then am able to click PLay. The loop starts over gain with "upadte required prompt", and it loops me through the provess i just identifed. It will not allow me to play the SIM4 application. Please help!!
