sound stops when i click out of sims 4 and click back in

whenever i click out of sims 4 or just press the windows key to bring me to the desktop, and go back in to the sims 4, the sound stops working, and when i check in the menu, nothing is muted! please help!

    This works as intended. Game sound stops when you go to the desktop. Or are you saying that it does not resume once you change back to the game? Note that some speakers has a power save function. In that case it can take a little while before you hear sound again.
