Starting up The Sims 4 changed my apps on my pc desktop

Question

Today I downloaded The Sims 4 (alongside my 37? DLCs) onto my new PC. Upon starting up the game, my computer returned to the desktop screen while the game was still starting in the background. My apps such as The EA app, trashcan etc. had suddendly gotten wide and I have no idea how to fix it.

The game also wouldn't let me see what was happening despite it still running in the background. Every time I clicked on the Sims 4, it would open, load for a bit and show me a glimpse, before throwing me back to the desktop. I've deleted The Sims 4 now and i just want to fix the app icons. Please help.

Also this PC can handle other games super well, including Baldur's gate 3, but apparently not The Sims 4 OR 3 (Won't even start Sims 3)

I've included a screenshot of the desktop with the borders of the apps drawn in red (due to them only showing when you hower over them.

@Elskuww&nbsp; Sorry for the late reply.&nbsp; It looks like your post was only moved to this forum today, which is why no one saw it until now.

At any rate, if you're still having trouble, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

And hopefully you've restarted your computer by now, which might fix the issue with the icons moving around.&nbsp; If you do want to try to run Sims 4 again, you'd likely avoid this issue by forcing the game to open in windowed mode.&nbsp; Go into Documents &gt; Electronic Arts &gt; The Sims 4, open options.ini, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).
