Stuck in CAS

So I have uninstalled and reinstalled sims 4, probably 10 times in the past two weeks. I have deleted all mods, there is not even a mods folder and it still gets stuck in CAS. I can do the scenarios and load into the world fine and it runs, but if I try to CAS and click the check mark it grey's out and will not load. The sim still moves and makes noises but the game does not go anywhere. I turned off my antivirus as well and that did not fix it.

  • propelcat  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you're still stuck in CAS, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I tried the folder move and even deleting it since I do not have anything there I need (old saves, etc...) Same issue, either I got stuck on the main screen when I click new game it gets stuck on a white screen or when I re booted my computer it was stuck after clicked the check mark in CAS. Ill attach the thing from dxdiag.

  • propelcat  The dxdiag crashed while running, so it's missing some crucial information.  What is there looks fine, nothing that would explain the issue.  So I need a little more info.

Please try again to play Sims 4, and when it doesn't work, look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
