Stuck in loading screens. Freezes up my entire PC.

Since the last updates my game is unplayable. I've accepted that I just can't play anymore until this is corrected. As soon as I log into the game and it requires me to go into a loading screen. It's done for. It stays on the loading screen, I can't even exit out the loading screen. I have to completely restart my computer. PLEASE FIX EA!

  • Same here! My game has been broken for almost 2 weeks now. My game will not load in it’s just an endless green diamond. When I recover an old save and launch it I get to the map but whenever I choose a household to play or click build/buy on a lot I still get the green diamond again and it never loads me into the lot. I even took out every mod and cc and I still have this issue.

  • LadyGatorBelle  Is your game freezing before or after the Main Menu?  If after, can you start a new save?  Can you choose Load Game rather than Resume and load a different household?

If only one save is affected, or only one or a couple of households, one possible cause is the Off the Grid lot challenge, which you can remove in Build mode.  There are other causes too, so let me know if this doesn't help.

If you can't load any saves, or the game is freezing before the Main Menu, please remove your Mods folder and delete any files in ConfigOverride (same location).  You don't need to save your progress.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the camera (Insert Media) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

kaciecat  The above applies to you as well, so please try the above and let me know what you find.
