@xjustynex30 It may be, let it do its thing for awhile and see if it finishes. If you still have problems you'll probably get more answers posting in http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/bd-p/The-Sims-4.
Open up Origin on your pc and then right click on your game. Try and see if repair game will fix it. Sounds like the update didn't work right.

Are you using custom content or mods in your game ?
It's usually just something that's causing the error.
You don't need to delete everything.
