Stuck On "preparing download" sims4

today i spent all of the money i received for my birthday on the sims 4 . i put the code into origin and the selected download. it stated that there was an unexpected error # 1966:200. this was about thirty tries and 5 hours ago, all with the same result. this is my first experience with EA pc games and im not impressed. i spent almost $60 on this game and i cant play it, and im not the only one. ive tried the different origins and running as administrator,can anyone help

    Make sure nothing is blocking the connection to Origin (Antivirus/Firewall)

    Might also be a problem with the servers (overload)

    I am also experiencing this issue. I bought the discs after numerous tries to buy it online and it would not accept my payment even after technical support. I put in my code, started the download process and I received the error that I needed a newer operating system. I have windows 7! This should not be an issue. I then restarted my computer and went back into my origin to continue download. I now either receive a message saying origin cannot write program or it is stuck in "preparing download" for hours!! I am very disappointed. I even tried deleting and reinstalling origin on my laptop. Please help!!
