bakeryavenger Thanks for the dxdiag, which shows the kind of error that's common on high-end Intel processors that the motherboard may overclock by default. So please look for an update for your board's BIOS. I can't tell from the version in your dxdiag whether you're up to date, but if not, that's first.
If that doesn't help, or you already have the newest BIOS version, boot into BIOS and disable CPU Turbo Boost. It's sometimes called something slightly different, but it should have Turbo in the name and be under Advanced settings.
