System Requirements for The Sims 4 - Will this work?

Hi everyone!

I just bought myself a new laptop and was wondering if someone could tell me if it can play The Sims 4 + Expansions well.

I'm not a tech person so a lot of this may as well be in another language BUT ill list was it says below:

Key Features

  • Comes with a quad-core Intel Core i7 8565U processor and 16GB RAM for a smooth multi-tasking experience
  • Fast file access and start-up times, thanks to its 256GB SSD
  • Brings clear and vibrant visuals through its 15.6-inch HD display and 2GB MX250 video card

To me it looks like it would be more than enough but just hoping for confirmation of this.

Also, if there is anything I can do to make the game run better i would love your advice.

Thankyou in advance.

  • @madbrims  It will probably handle high settings just fine.  Ultra settings would depend on what packs you have installed—for example, Seasons and Island Living are much more demanding than any Game or Stuff pack—and how high you want your frame rates to be.  There's no reason the laptop shouldn't run TS4 at all though.

Given the specs you listed, this model is probably in a class of laptops that don't have great cooling.  This isn't a problem as long as you're careful, but you'll want to elevate the laptop to allow air to circulate underneath or even buy a cooling pad.  If you'd like advice on how to monitor temperatures, let me know.

@kreeser1  That website only describes whether a computer can technically run Sims 4 at all, not how well it will do so.  Minimum specs by EA's definition are whether the game will load and run for a reasonable amount of time without crashing, all on the lowest graphics settings.
