Just a head's up. The FAQ says that the game will require Origin to install. I would strongly suggest other people voice their opinions on this.
Steam supports digital downloading, it has a wallet for mictotransations, and it has a workshop which would allow for sharing Sims / Buildings / Cities / etc. All built in. Just gotta use it.
