Technical support

So I was trying to download my sims onto my external hard drive so I can have more space on my computer, I deleted the origin games folder in my program files and put the properties on my hard drive. When I loaded the game up I notice that I didn’t have my household saved I tried everything to get it back and now I don’t know what to do. My hours are still there for how much I played that’s it. Please help I don’t know what to do

@SkylerTheeSimmer  Please search your computer for any stray saves.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter Slot_ in the search field in the upper-right corner of the window.  Wait for the scan to finish, and if it finds any saves, select one and click the "Open file location" menu button.  You'll jump to wherever this save is, which is hopefully where all your missing  content is.

If you do find saves or other files you want to keep, you'll need to move them to the folder Sims 4 is reading.  Please find the full file path to that folder using this in-game method:

If you don't find any saves on your computer, check OneDrive as well: maybe you'll get lucky and OneDrive will have uploaded a recent copy of the Sims 4 folder.  Here again, if you find saves or other content, just move the files to the relevant subfolders within the Sims 4 folder the game is reading.

  • My account (Level 58, OVR 120) got stuck after opening a compensation pack. The game crashed before I could select the player. Now I'm stuck in a login loop. Please fix my account status.

@SkylerTheeSimmer  Please post the full file path to your save that you see in-game.  Please also post a screenshot of the saves folder and another of the Mods folder.  For both of these, include the address bar, above the list of files and folders.

  • @puzzlezaddict I found my saves and did everything you said, still nothing. everytime I open the sims I don’t see my loading screen nor any of my mods

  • @SkylerTheeSimmer  Did you try to move the user folder, as in, the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, to your external drive too?  If so, that's the issue.  Sims 4 will only read the folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, and if it doesn't find a user folder there, it'll create one.

If you never moved your user folder, please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves and let me know if your old saves are present.
