The Sims 4 Is Greyed Out on the EA APP

So... This started after i purchase the new expansion that has yet to be released. I bought on Steam (that's where i get all of my Sims 4 dlcs, which is all that has been released so far). Anyways, i bought and didn't think to much of it, until i decided to do a little play session and saw that my Sims 4 is greyed out and unavailable. As you can see, the game is registering that i got a new dlc (it was 95 before but then it showed 96) but out of nowhere, it suddenly has it this way. I haven't done anything to it, apart from turning my computer back on to play the game. I actually forgot that the dlc wasn't out it... Had i known i probably would've waited until release.

I checked on Google to see if there was anyone with the same issue, and i saw that a community manager had suggested to do this:

Hey @hazel0220 , first things first try clearing EA app's cache to see if that fixes the issue. Simply click the three dashes in the far-left corner of the EA app > Help > App recovery > Clear cache.

I did exactly that and nothing happened. I'm still seeing this issue and unable to play the game. ***Sorry about the quality of the photos, i took with my phone.***

  • hallowqueen128  Since you own Sims 4 through Steam, you'll need to launch it through Steam, and also repair or update there.  Are you unable to play?  If so, please let me know what happens when you try to play through Steam.

Sorry that it took me this long to answer. So i was able to play by clicking on the The Sims 4 launcher. However, i never had this problem with the EA App. Before I was always able to see all the dlc install and numbers, just like it shows on The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval. This only changed with the new expansion. I have uninstall and install the EA App and nothing happened… I also made sure to repair my game through Steam just as you suggested but nothing happened. I want to be able to see that on my EA App. I don’t know what’s going on…

  • hallowqueen128  If you click on the Sims 4 icon on the left of your second screenshot, what do you see?  I'm not saying click the Play button, just the icon itself.

The "unavailable" issue happens sometimes, I'm not totally sure why, but it could be related to your region or using a VPN.  It shouldn't happen just because you own the game in Steam, at least not when you've added it to your EA App library as well.

Is this what you are asking? I'm sorry, i'm not really technologically savy, unfortunately... And i also don't use VPN's. I buy directly from the Brazilian Steam. I never bought from anywhere else but there. As soon as a new dlc drops, i go there, put to cart and purchase. I never used VPN's or anything like that. I never needed, and honestly, i wouldn't even know where that goes so...

  • hallowqueen128  I meant in the EA App, under jogos instalados, you can see an icon for each installed game.  Click that and you should see the Sims 4 product page, but let me know what exactly appears.

As for the VPN, this isn't simply a matter of buying from a different store.  Virtual Private Networks are used for a variety of reasons, and the EA App often doesn't work well when one is active.  It's pretty difficult to install one by accident, but if someone else uses this computer, please check with them that they haven't downloaded one and left it running.

Is this what you mean??? This is what appears…

The only person that uses this computer is me (it’s in my bedroom), and I haven’t download a VPN.
