The Sims 4 lagging

Hello there. I have had Sims for years. I have always played on the highest settings with only occasionally lagging which was always solved with restarting the computer. Then I bought new laptop bet...

    It listed Nvidia. :D I did some digging on my own, tried uninstalling some programmes I rarely used, optimized my SSD and HDD and some other thing. I don't know what finally did it but my game works fine. :D Thank you so much for your help. :D

@Twillower  Please make sure Sims 4 is using your dedicated graphics card.  Go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, open the file labeled config.log, and look for the card the game lists, about 25 lines down.  If it lists the Intel HD 620 rather than the Nvidia 1060, let me know.
