The Sims 4 language list only shows English

I own 2 versions of The Sims 4: English (US) and PL/CZE/RU.

In Origin there used to be 2 separate versions in my library. However, In EA App there is just one version and I am unable to install the game in polish. During installation the language list only shows English. I tried uninstalling the app but the problem remains.

    Hi there @sddfssw,

If you currently have the incorrect language version on your account, you'll need to speak with live support so they can review your account details and check which language version you've currently got and help you get the correct version on your account- we aren't able to check this here on the forums since we don't have access to your account details.

Please reach out to live support by submitting a help request on the site here so they can check into these details with you- if you have any problems reaching live support there, you can let me know.

    Hi

It's not really the case that I have an incorrect version. In some of my saves I use the Polish version and in others I use English. I like both versions and that's why I had bought both. I just hope that if enough people say something about this, EA will finally introduce such a basic feature as changing a game's language. Origin had that so it just doesn't make sense that the newer app does not allow it. You literally have to reinstall a game if you want to change the language on the EA App. It just doesn't make sense. I wish I could still use Origin since I could access both versions without any issue.

I already tried contacting the support some time ago when I could install the game in Polish but not in English and all I got was some automated response which was unrelated to my issue. I found a screenshot of the first response and I'm gonna attach it here. I exchanged a couple more emails but most of them said the same thing but in different words. All the responses I got didn't even address my issue. I'm definitely not gonna contact the support again. It's just a waste of time.

I know you're not able to do anything about it but I just wanted to express my frustration somewhere, considering that the "support" most likely didn't even read my help request.

@sddfssw  Just in case you don't already know, there are three versions of Sims 4: the global version (all languages), an English-only version, and a version limited to Polish, Russian, and Czech.  What you want is the global version, and an EA App support rep should be able to help you get it if you don't already have it.

The EA App's inability to switch languages without reinstalling the game is a known issue that has been brought up many times.  The EA people who deal with EA App issues have given no indication that this feature will be reintroduced.  And from what I've seen, the App team is still putting out larger fires, so it might be a while before they move on to optional features, even the popular ones.

If your computer has the extra space for it, one potential workaround here would be to have two copies of Sims 4 installed.  If you rename the "The Sims 4" folder that holds the game's program files, the EA App won't recognize the game is installed, giving you a chance to reinstall it in the other language.  Then when you wanted to switch back to the first language, you'd rename the second "The Sims 4" folder and revert the first one.  I haven't actually tried this, so I can't promise it'll work, but it's worth testing.

When renaming a folder, make sure the EA App is closed and the EABackgroundService is NOT running in the Task Manager.  Either one can block changes to the game's program files, including renaming.
