The Sims 4 Pets Endless CAS Loading Screen

Okay so i've been struggling with this since the new expansion (Pets) and I have tried every possible solution i could find.

Let me clear up a few things:

1. I would LOVE to be able to ask this question on the Sims Forum but i am not a 'full member' (despite being a member for 5 years) because I haven't responded enough (how dumb).

2. I have tried finding conflicts with Mod Conflict Detector (all files are fine).

3. I have repaired my Sims 4 game and applied all applicable batch fixes through Sims 4 Studio.

4. My problem is ONLY with getting into CAS (i can load houses and live play fine).

5. The issue occurs only when I have my Clothing CC folder in my mods folder (i separate my cc based on type and that is the only folder whose presence incurs the endless loading screen).

What i need:

A solution to finding out what the problem is without having to go through one-by-one over 1000+ items of cc in my Clothing folder.

CC it's a constant struggle, in checking for updates especially after a large update / pack such as the latest one, you simply have to check it all by removing 1 'cc folder' at a time, sorry, so as to break them down ie: Tops, Bottoms, Skirts etc.. load 1 folder at a time until you can work out what broke it.. to narrow it down.

Since the Cats and Dogs patch, there are many reported broken mods and cc. For example; I had to remove all Custom Recipes as only 1 person has their's updated.

Over at SimsVIP they have created a very large post to include all the broken CC and Mods worth having a look there, also the Sims 4 Studio is worth having even if you don't make Custom Content, as there are always 'batch fixes', which, with 'one click' it'll fix all Cas items, CC sofas and beds for example and or all 'lighting'. Not saying it'll fix some 'broken' cc you have, just relevant to the different 'fixes'.

    Hope this helps.

Use the 50/50 method to find those that are broken.

Remove half then check continue until you have found all that are broken. then test the other half.

A lot of CC was broken with the latest patch.

This was what i was fearing. I hate that the newest patch/expansion just messed up all the CC. I've never had this problem or any problems with previous patches or expansions and it just sucks that the one expansion that i really wanted to play had to go and ruin my game. I have been trying to find alternatives top the 50/50 method because it takes nearly 30-45 minutes to open my game so it'll take days of dedication before I can even get through the 1000+ cc items. Maybe that is the price of so much cc. I just wished this expansion didn't ruin it. I know new patches effect mods and replacements but i didn't even know that could happen to cc (like clothing and such), its just dumb.

    Thanks though.

Not to be mean but did you even read my post? You basically just re-stated everything i already clarified. I made the numbered list so people wouldn't redundantly respond with information I already know/understand.

Thank you though for taking the time to post, but please read the question before answering.

    Hi @AlwaysWavie

There were a few posts exactly like yours, and yes I read it but quite simply I did add that you'd have to 'split' up your clothing folders more and do it one by one, nothing else to say there.. it'd be great if this step was not necessary, sure. I meant to add also that the S4S has updated again on the 19th (I think), so just keep checking. There was no mention by you of the SimsVIP posting on broken cc either, it's a good one and lists many items.

Put simply, nothing can find a 'broken cc' that you have except by a methodical sort. Cas won't load = somethings broken

nb: I also have a lot of cc; over 5000 and I have a tonne load of folders as I learned the hard way. eg: 'Clothing' has about 30 subfolders at least + more for Male

    @AlwaysWavie

Let me try to explain it.

Normally patches doesn't mean much for CC more for Mods. However this patch was a large patch to make sure things would work properly with the Cats & Dogs EP. It was necessary to rewrite a lot of code for items so the Pets could interact properly with them. This meant that a lot of CC no longer worked because they relied on code that has been changed. For instance all CC Sofas broke because the code were changed so that the Pets could sit on them.
