@thepeachyfaerie If you use a third-party antivirus, set exceptions for TS4_x64.exe and EADesktop.exe. If you only use Windows Defender, find out whether Controlled Folder Access is active, and if so, add the same exceptions. This guide covers CFA and a couple third-party programs:

I don't use a third-party antivirus and my Controlled Folder Access is not active. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my game but it still runs as a background process.
@thepeachyfaerie Does this happen if you remove all your mods and custom content and leave them out of the game? I understand that you could play with your mods and cc once, but my question here is whether you can keep playing without any of the content, or the game also launches once and then stops working going forward.
@puzzlezaddict Once I take out all of my mods and CC, it launches. I’ve been messing around with it and finally got it to launch correctly but I don’t know how long it will last. Also, now my skins (both alpha and maxis match) seem broken (the red and white texture issue) despite being fine before. It’s an odd situation, haha.
