The Sims 4 uninstalled itself and will not reinstall

My sims 4 game has uninstalled itself in the past. Like I play on day and the next day it is gone and I have to reinstall it on the ea app. Usually has taken like 2 seconds and i could play again, but this time it will not redownload! I don't know what to do! I have clicked the download button multiple times. It loads for a second and the download button reappears. I cant play the game at all! So infuriating!

I logged out and in again on ea app and it seemed to fix it.. but when i launched the game, my computer crashed and deleted all the hard drives 🙂

There is no virus.. or atleast my antivirus could not detect it. It has happened before.

Why is this game breaking my computer??!!

@Kirtikoryi  What do you mean, the crash deleted all the hard drives?  If you could boot back into Windows, not everything was deleted.  Let me know what exactly disappeared.

I'd also suggest using Malwarebytes to run a virus scan.  Download it (the free trial is fine) from here:

    https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download

Open it, click Scan > Custom Scan > Configure Scan, check all the boxes both for all scan types and for all your drives, and let it do its job.  This could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the amount of data and whether the scan finds anything, so you may want to set it to run while you're doing something else.  Please attach its report so I can take a look.

    Hi!

I figured the problem out. When my game crashed, my computer generated a temporary profile. So it seemed that everything was gone. I fixed the problem, got some advice on the internet. And I got everything back.

However now i started my game again. I have no mods installed and the game crashed randomly again! Screen turned black and luckilly whem i turned the computer back on, it didn't make another temp account. I will repair my game to see if thet works. Otherwise I cannot play it

@Kirtikoryi  Please try the custom scan again now that you've run the quick one.  The scan should absolutely run to completion; the fact that it doesn't is somewhat worrisome.

If the custom scan still won't run, try using Windows Defender.  Run the Advanced Scan described here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/stay-protected-with-windows-security-2ae0363d-0ada-c064-8b56-6a39afb6a963

    Then Malwarebytes's custom scan again.

I doubt Chrome itself was compromised; it's more likely a plugin or similar that you've installed, deliberately or not.
