The Sims 4 Will Not Even Open- Unplayable

Hello,

It has been a couple of months since I have decided to play my sims 4 game. Today, when I attempted to open my game, the game would not come up. (I wait about 15 minutes for a response.)  The only window appeared was the EA open, which looked blank and unresponsive...

I ended going to my task manager and noticed that the game wasn't running, but about 8 different EA App responses. For reference, I only double clicked once, to have the EA app to solicit so many responses from one double click seemed very odd.  I decided to end all task and try again.

After waiting 30 minutes and nothing coming up, I ended up having the same response.

After that, I thought, okay, maybe it's mods? I removed the mods folder, and the problem preceded.

I restarted the app, still, not starting.....

It would be great that when a customer buys something it is something they can use. In fact, there was anti lemon laws to prevent consumer buying cars that are not usable, why does that not apply to games?

  • @FreeCake4Life  Please uninstall the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), and restart your computer before reinstalling it.  Let me know whether the App loads properly as well as whether Sims 4 works.  Please continue to test with no mods or custom content present, at least for now.

I did this, and the game opened, HOWEVER, when I tried to play a household it just jumped me back to the map screen.  I tried to open my game again and the original problems showed up again.

@FreeCake4Life  Is the EA App currently working?

Additionally, does the game work if you move the Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop?  This would remove, but not delete, your saves and other user data, which is part of the point of this test.  Let me know how it goes.

I wish I could, but now the EA app is not opening at all. I am starting to think this is an EA app problem....

@FreeCake4Life  Uninstall the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), restart your computer, reinstall the App, and see whether it opens properly.  If it does, try again to play Sims 4.  If the game won't load, move the user folder, as described.
