BayTree23 Sorry for the late reply. Your dxdiag shows that a component of Total AV is crashing, so it's a good idea to uninstall and reinstall it. Here's how to remove it:

I would test Sims 4 with the program removed just to see whether it's the issue. As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe, and you can reinstall the antivirus (if you want) afterwards. Before trying to play with the AV removed, repair the game (EA App > Sims 4 > Manage > Repair) to address any changes that the AV might have made.
