"There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game." - Sims4

I am continuously getting the error "There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game." whenever I try to launch the Sims 4. I am uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times, as well as the EA app itself. Additionally, I tried to go through Steam instead to download the game, but I am still getting this error. I have researched and tried countless solutions from online support forums, yet nothing seems to solve this.

Solutions I have attempted include: using Revo uninstaller on both Sims 4 and the EA app, repairing the game and EA app, and updating my visual c++ downloads. Please help, I just want to play the Sims. This is the first time I am trying to install the game on this PC, so it has never run on this computer before.

Attached is the error I am receiving, my build, and my DxDiag.txt file. Please let me know any other information that may help, I am desperate. I have no CC or mods installed and I am just attempting to run the base game.

  • @f80927fc2beb803b  You're running Windows 11 N, which means Windows is missing the Media Feature Pack by default.  Here's how to install it manually:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/media-feature-pack-for-windows-n-8622b390-4ce6-43c9-9b42-549e5328e407

If that doesn't help, uninstall Sims 4 and the EA App using Revo again.  Disable your antivirus (if you have a third-party program, and even if you don't think so, please check the Task Manager's background processes anyway), install the EA App, create a new folder for Sims 4, and install the game into that.  The folder should be on the root level of the drive of your choice: C:\Games is fine, but not C:\Program Files\Games.  Don't reenable the antivirus until after you've tested Sims 4 at least once.
