I'm trying to transfer my dlc from EA app to steam but It's not recongizing my dlc from EA. I can't play sims 4 on EA app anymore because I have the standard version. Im really frustarted and don't wanna lose my progress on the sims 4. If anyone knows how to fix this i'd appreciate the help 🙂

@addiedolgner There's no way to transfer DLC to Steam directly, but you can use your EA App-owned DLC in a Steam install. First, uninstall Sims 4 through the EA App if you haven't already. Install the game through Steam as well as any packs you own there. Launch the game once to make sure it works; if not, stop here and let me know. Otherwise, sign into the EA App and download your DLC: just the packs, not a second copy of the base game. The data should go into the folder for the Steam install, and Steam should then load all your DLC. If this doesn't work, please run searches for two or three of the packs that aren't loading. Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter the folder name for one of the missing packs in the search field in the upper-right corner. This is the full list of packs: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/extras-2/available-packs-dlc/ For example, if you're looking for Seasons, you'd search for EP05 . Wait for the search to finish, then make sure the full file path is showing under each result. If it's not, expand the window sideways as necessary. Take a screenshot using Windows key-shift-S and attach it to a reply here. Then repeat for one or two more packs.

@fluffybunnyx0x What happens when you try to uninstall? If you want to troubleshoot that issue, let me know. Or you can go for a clean sweep and use a third-party tool to remove everything. Once you've uninstalled Sims 4 and the EA App, you can reinstall the game through Steam, reinstall the App and any packs you own there (but not a second copy of the base game), and see whether it works.

I know you posted this months ago, but EA won't let me download the DLCs without downloading a second version of the base game. I've been having this issue for ages and it's really annoying. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to transfer Sims DLC from Steam to my EA App? I bought all of my DLC on Steam, but am switching to EA App because I recently got a Macbook, and Steam won't run Sims 4. EA has 2 of my packs but not all of them, and I would like to play Sims 4 with all my purchased packs as soon as possible.

Hi, I'm trying to move my sims game from EA to Steam so that I can easily move the download to a hardrive, but the EA app just keeps f-ing me over over and over again and it won't let me simply uninstall the game, do you think it would work if i just uninstalled the app?

it’s actually not possible to just download the packs without the sims 4 it automatically does it no matter what

Prof-DJ_YTB Does the EA App think your EA-owned packs are installed? Check under Sims 4 > Manage > Manage add-ons. If you see a Download button, click it. If the packs are listed as installed, please see the "I have a Steam install" section of this guide:

Hi I just installed the game through steam and all work kinda well like I have all my saves that I had with EA app as well as all my mods but the DLC that I have on EA app (all the one I bought except the last one) are not loaded in the game even though it knows that I posses the DLC in my library it is just not loaded in my game and I dont know what to do to get them on my game now.

erweg82zk66s The issue is that Steam will never recognize DLC you've bought through the EA App. You can use both together, at least in theory—the EA App could install the packs you own there into the Steam version of the game, and everything would load together. In practice though, this appears not to work in Steam OS at least some of the time.

As a practical matter, is there a reason you want to launch the game through Steam other than simple convenience? I ask because it might not be possible to work around the Steam OS limitation at this time, or if it is, it might take more work than it's worth. You can of course try installing only your packs through the EA App, after you've downloaded the base game through Steam; just don't count on it working.

Sorry I was half asleep when I wrote that but I moved it to my sd card which only has Sims 3 files in it. It's all thru EA app. It's installed. I can play the game with the DLCs but I want to move the DLCs only to play thru steam instead of EA app. But steam doesn't pick up the DLCs

erweg82zk66s I asked because you seemed to have replied to someone with the disk space error. So is your issue that your DLC is installed but won't load, or is it not installed at all? Do you own the missing DLC through Steam or the EA App?

I get no errors at all. It's an empty 256gb sd card on steam deck. The game just won't pick up the dlcs

erweg82zk66s Are you seeing the error that says you don't have enough disk space? If so, how much does the EA App think you have, and how much space is available on each drive? You can see the latter by opening a File Explorer window and clicking This PC in the left panel; you might need to scroll down a bit to see your drives.

If you're seeing a different error, please describe it, and post a screenshot or two if it might help.
