Transfer sims??

Hi everyone! I seriously damaged my PC yesterday and i’m unable to continue using it, so i need to get a new one. I went to BestBuy, and am planning on doing a data transfer so which files do I desperately need to transfer over to keep my saved sims (they aren’t in-game, just on my personal gallery, not up for download)

If you have uploaded your sims to the Gallery and they are there in your catalog, you can always download it to any computer. The same applies to homes. This is stored for you on the Origin server

If you use CC when creating sims then you have to download the same CCs from the links and put them in a new game
    I don't work for EA

You need your Tray, Saves and Mods folders. The last only if you use any Mods/CC

  • They arent on my gallery, they are saved (i really don’t know how to explain) like when you save a household thats where they are and i do use cc but i am planning on getting a data transfer

I understand, They are in your library - more accurately in the Tray folder.
I do not know why you do not want to upload them to the Gallery, but if you can not do it then upload the whole Tray folder to the pendrive. Then in a new game on a new computer you will upload this folder from pendrive and put it into a new game. If you will have enough space on pendrive  you can also to do the same with Saves folder and Mods as Jpkarlsen mentioned below

  • I would upload them to the gallery, but as i mentioned before my computer is completely trashed and I cannot turn it on. I am bringing it to bestbuy sometime this week to do a data transfer, and will talk to them about tranfering my mods folder along with my Tray and Saves folder. I don’t have them on the gallery because i dont want people taking them.

I realize that you've already probably taken care of the issue, but I wanted to offer this information anyway.

You can always transfer the whole Sims 4 folder over to a USB key. That way you're able to save all your Sims 4 user files, such as saves, families, houses, game options, mods and custom content, screenshots, etc.

The Sims 4 folder can be found by this path: C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

I would have copied all your data to an external drive before giving it to those clowns at best buy.  They are awful.

I hope they don't format your hard drive and say "opps sorry" when you ask what happened to all your files.

In the future, make sure you do backups of your save games and sims 4 files every week or so to a different hard drive.
