Please try the clean folder approach described here: 📓[GUIDE] Clean User Folder Approach | EA Forums - 12690428

Hiya, I've attempted the clean folder approach and reached step 8. I found out the error still persists after creating a new generated sims4 folder and was asked to "report back in the thread where you were asked to do this". Let me know if there is anything else I can do on my end. Thank you for helping!
Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?
- Press Windows-Key + R
- Type: DxDiag
- Click on Save all Information.
- Attach the Text File to your post
- Are you using memory boost ?
- Are you playing on DX9 or DX11 ?
- Is the lot the only thing that disappears or can you also not save any progress ?

Hi here are all the answers I could find:
- I'm not sure about memory boost, could you clarify where I should be looking for it using AMD?
- The DX11 option isn't available, the DX9 option hasn't been turned on.
- The lot is the only thing that doesn't save, everything else is continuous.
Let me know what else I can do on my end!
Thanks!
If DX9 is turned off, then you're using DX11
Memory boost can be found here:
Can you check if that makes a difference if you switch it to enabled ?
Please also check if you have this line: useappdataforscratch in the GameConfig.ini (found in the documents folder) and if you do, check if it makes a difference if you set it to 0 save the changes and restart the game (maybe you need to restart again for the change to take effect.

Heya,
I did have memory boost at automatic and set it to enabled. This did not work.
I also changed the useappdataforscratch to 0 and restarted my game, but it also did not work.
One thing I feel is note mentioning is that the game doesn't have the bug for the first approx. 15 mins of playing. I don't know if that helps at all however.
When you play, do you have a scratch folder created in the saves folder ?
- Start the game
- Load save
- Check your documents saves folder and see if there's a scratch folder in there.
The scratch folder contains the data while you are playing and it sounds like the data is somehow not retained when you travel. They are making some changing moving that folder over to appdata so setting that to 0 should make the game use the regular folder in documents again.
To be sure it does that, can you check if it's there ? Also are you using OneDrive ?

Hiya,
Can't find the scratch folder anywhere while playing the game. Also, I am using OneDrive.

so I'm guessing it's still in appData.
Do you have any cleaning tools running in the back that could be deleting the data ? Is the option still set to 0 ?
Could you also try to turn off oneDrive for Sims: 📓[GUIDE] [PC] Managing OneDrive | EA Forums - 12636625

Hiya,
I've turned off one drive. In GameConfig the useappdataforscratch keeps reverting back to 1 after a while. Would this be the cause of the issue?
