@harmonicstrife When you reconnect the drive, can you see the files on it? How is the drive formatted? Among other locations, you can see it by clicking Windows key-X and choosing Disk Management.

Please also post a screenshot of the error you're getting. And I'd like a dxdiag as well, for reference.
