i dont have custom content, im not sure how all of this works though, would resetting my game data erase all of my households and progress?
No, you will not lose your household or progress if you return all of your save files to "My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves" be sure to delete the file Slot_00000001.save before launching your game.
