Trouble adding parent
Microsoft wiped my C drive and although my game was installed on the K drive and the files were saved on the K drive, I lost all of my saved games -- over 840 hours of playing time, videos, screenshots, generations down the drain.
Thankfully, I saved most of my sims at various life stages to the Gallery as well as most of my custom builds, so I don't have to start from scratch.
I am having a problem with one family. I want to add the father to a family, and I cannot. Even with cas.fulleditmode the game is only allowing me to add him as a roommate or brother. I can't deage the family because the married couple has a teenage daughter and a little girl. I aged the father to Elder and the game still will not allow me to add him as the father.
What can I do?
Hi BlackjackWidow unfortunately all of the games are gone. I know it is highly unusual for a Microsoft tech to do that. That particular tech messed up big time. So, Microsoft spent two weeks rebuilding my computer. And when I took my computer to the Microsoft Store they told me the K drive was intact, but somehow when they reinstalled my image from 2018 files were lost in the process including all of the Sims 4 folder. My Documents folder is still on the K drive tho.
BTW All -- I did not get a message popping up on my machine, I actually contacted Microsoft directly after the May update and they remote accessed my computer. So, I wasn't contacted by hackers or had a virus or ransomware.
But I did figure out the issue I was having. Malcolm still has parents listed, although they are blank. So I just added Geoffrey as Malcolm's wife Nessa's father to try to rebuild my generational family that way.
I was able to do that using the cas full edit mode, as family_parent 739164183140847203 739164182935718089 family_son_daughter didn't work.
