- @JazzMichelle This is happening to me aswell! And before I shut my game I was struggling to enter into lots, everytime it would kick me back out to the world view? Very annoying
my game was working absolutely fine this morning and I come to play on it now and it says it needs updating yet every time I go to update it is fails and stops, I restarted my Mac twice and even deleted origin and re-downloaded it and it still won't update
I was able to bypass this by opening Origin directly, not clicking on the game icon on my desktop. Waited for the update to finish and was then able to play the game.

- Same problem with my PC and Windows 10.
It's really sad how EA bullies us with this crap. How can one get refund because the game just doesn't work? - CharleyNoel95 years agoSeasoned Traveler
I tried this, but clicking directly on the origin icon did nothing, not even open origin to attempt to update or anything.

This was also happening until I clicked on the Origin logo (like someone else suggested) and updated the game that way instead of clicking directly on the S4 icon.
I just got the game and it keeps telling me must login online first when i have so it wont even let me download it what do i do???

Please clear Origin's cache (Windows) or run the Origin reset tool (macOS):

Restart your computer, open your Origin game library, click on the Sims 4 icon, and press Update. If this doesn't work, clear Origin's cache or run the reset tool again, restart, and then repair the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair. Try updating again after the repair has finished.
