I was attempting to play Sims 4 but whenever I try to let it update, Origin crashes.
I was able to bypass this by opening Origin directly, not clicking on the game icon on my desktop. Waited for the update to finish and was then able to play the game.
It worked for me, thank you so much!
I've try to start my game (Sims 4) - I use the icon on my computer for Origin - Origin window opens and says I have to do an update - I click update - Origin closes (disappears).

Game started - finally - did not use desk top icon.
JUST FYI...FOUND A FIX NOT MENTIONED! I have had issues with Origin crashing when attempting to start it regardless if by on home screen or logging into Origin directly. This has been going on since an update sometime after June 17th so I haven't played in a month, getting online every now and again looking for fixes...becoming exasperated. I have tried EVERYTHING mentioned by EVERYONE and only grew more frustrated, specially since I am pretty much a shut-in during these crazy times.
1. SAVE YOUR SAVED GAME FILE FOLDER AS A COPY AND PASTE TO YOUR DESKTOP...if you've MODS, do the same.
2. When logged in online to Origin, click on your Sims 4 and CHOOSE DOWNLOAD as if for the 1st time.
3. CHOOSE TO REPLACE THE FILE ALREADY THERE
4. CHOOSE INSTALL...
5. Mine FINALLY showed me it 'updating' instead of ACTUALLY installing which I assume it is an auto-repair to the files??
I am NO computer geek and tried everything I could find online...even someone who said they tried reinstalling Origin...so I thought I would attempt to reinstall the game itself.
THIS WORKED and I have not seen anyone else post it anywhere...
