As title says, everytime I click on the desktop shortcut to launch the game, I get stuck with an endless loading box that says "preparing game". To launch the game, I have to open the EA app and manually launch the game every single time. No mods, no CC, fully up to date.
@wardengrey41 Try recreating the desktop shortcut. It would be here by default in an EA App install:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin
If you've installed elsewhere on your computer, just find that Sims 4 folder and the Bin folder inside. Create a shortcut for TS4_x64 by right-clicking it and selecting Send to > Desktop (shortcut). You can also try creating one for TS4_DX9_x64, or even TS4_Launcher_x64, although I'm not sure what purpose that file has.
If this doesn't help, clear the EA App's cache and try again.

If that doesn't help either, clear the App's cache again and uninstall and reinstall it.
