ts4script files not recognized

I'm new to using mods, so maybe it's something i'm doing wrong that's easily fixed but i'm not sure...

It all started when I was playing with my first vampire family and noticed that the grandmaster bar wouldn't increase anymore. I looked it up online and found a Mod that could fix the problem. Downloaded it, unzipped it, and there it was: one .package file and one script file. Looked it up again and found out that I need to put them both on Mods folder. Fine, I did it and started up the game. The pop up screen appeared, of course, but the script file wasn't there, just the .package one. I went to settings > options > other > checked the box to allow scripts. Exited the game, started it up again: nothing changed. I tried to play and see if it was working anyways, but it wasn't. The bar was still stuck. This is going to be fixed by EA games anytime soon so I gave up on trying to fix this on my own.

The next day I decided I would try to install another Mod with script files, so I downloaded the Mc Command Center for the first time. I have all expansion packs and game packs, so I downloaded the latest version of it. Unzipped the files, moved them to Mods folder, started up the game and again, only the ONE .package file was there, but the other THIRTEEN .ts4script files didn't show up.

It simply never shows up any .ts4script files. Maybe the problem is with my laptop, I don't know. It's a Lenovo, and it's pretty much new. My game is updated and I also tried repairing it through Origin. Cleaned up the Saves folder. I even tried to install the mod with the file zipped, but when I did it, even the .package file wasn't detected. I have no subfolders upon Mods folder. Finally, uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Nothing works. And I'm so tired and upset. It's been two days of reading forums... lots of forums. And I haven't seen anyone with this same issue. What I usually see is: the file is detected, but doesn't work. Mine is not even being detected in the first place, and I've followed too many instructions already to make it work. None of them does, though.

Is there any other program I need to install to make .ts4script files work??? Never heard of it, but maybe it's too obvious and no one talks about it anymore. lol

EDIT: I'm assuming is something missing in my laptop that is causing it not to work. Do any of you have any idea of what can it be?

I've literally done everything people sugest is other forums, like move the mods folder to my desktop, play a bit so it generates anorther one and then put the mod files in the new folder. Tried also removing the localthumbcache.package file and had no luck with it. Also tried to go to properties of the folder and uncheck the "just reading" option. I checked if the firewall was blocking anything, but it wasn't.

EDIT 2: I went to sims 4 folder and removed all files from there, except save and tray folders, and the "options" file, those I moved to my desktop. Then I started up the game so it would generate everything all over again, then put the ones I had moved to desktop back in the sims 4 new folder. Didn't work either.

I also downloaded another file of the MCCC stuff 'cause there was 2 files missing, but even doing so, I had no luck.

Tried also a whole other mod script, none of them works.

You can see for yourselves on the screenshots above, especially the pop up screen that shows no script files at all.

ps.: my game is in portuguese (i'm brazilian).

@mydandelion Move the mods folder to desktop, delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder , enable the game and let the game create a new mods folder with new resource.cfg file
When you unpack the MCC, there is the MCC folder. Paste this folder into the new mods folder. I'm not sure if these vampire mods are up to date. If it do not work anyway, do not put them into the game Turn on the game and check - on the sim's komputer in game - if MCC is working now.
    I don't work for EA

  • I tried this first suggestion with the new resource.cfg but it didn't work either ☹️

But when I unpack the MCC it comes with no folder, just the 14 files. I'm downloading it from the official website. How do I unpack it with the folder?

I already removed the vampire mod, but it was up to date. Actually, this vampire mod was created by the end of december 2018 FOR the latest pack since the bug started right after that.

I can't give you here a link to dreadpole MCC

  • And I've done this download several times ☹️

Thanks for trying to help me.

  • Yep, this is the one. When I extract the files, there's no folder.
