This is a quite ridiculous issue to have, customers having sunk money into a game only for it to not work properly. I've had this game since launch, and took a 'break' from it for a while, only to discover I get the same error message as these others. Forgive the irritation, but if I pay money, I expect a game to work. No system changes should affect that.

Hey guys, I just got mine to work (I'm on a Mac). I closed Origin, and launched Sims 4 from the Applications folder. It opened up Origin as well, but the game started with no errors. Hope this will work for you too!
Definitely still not working! I just bought the game and can not even open it. Completely frustrating
I just downloaded the new kitchen stuff pack and origin won't let me get on to play the game? it says i need to verify sims 4 purchase through them and that origin is offline and can not verify my copy of the sims 4? i am very confused and was wondering if they were doing maintenance or if this was a bug created from the new kitchen stuff pack. if o please anyone help me out .. i really would like to play this game !
i have windows 10 operating system .. is this game compatible with windows 10 ? i had windows 8.1 but recently upgraded .. so i went over to my other lab top which has windows 8 still and it says the same message on that computer.. so i can not be due to windows 10
I also checked origin's maintenance page and it says everything is green and online. they are not currently doing maintenance!! help i want to play my new kitchen stuff pack!!
origin needs to update their maintenance and server status page to down for maintenance.
Also i should not have to find the bin file to open my game

Hi! I'm still having issues with connection. I have the latest patch and all eps & sp that were released. I'm win Windows 8. I never had an issue with this since i bought the game, but since last week two things happen. The gallery refuses to connect, or connects and after some minutes it shuts off.
The issue fixes itself when i close and re open the game, but minutes later, shuts off again. i don't know what to do.
