Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Using a Lenovo Yoga 7 laptop, just play the game without disabling the HID-complaint pen device.
What happens when the bug occurs? The mouse cursor randomly jumps to the edges of the screen, causing the camera to fly away in random directions. This also occurs outside of The Sims 4, but only when The Sims 4 is running; the issue disappears as soon as the game is closed and the touch screen otherwise behaves normally. Disabling the HID-complant pen device in Device Manager causes the problem to stop occurring, but this is not simple to do and is very inconvenient. (I do not personally have a pen but on a Lenovo Yoga laptop this device driver is installed by default, so this will affect all users with the same laptop.) This thread on the EA Forums describes the exact issue, and everyone in the thread has the same laptop model. https://answers.ea.com/t5/PC/Unable-to-navigate-mouse-in-game/td-p/14184702
What do you expect to see? The mouse behaves normally and does not randomly jump around.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
