Unrecognized video Card sims 4
Hi I'm new to this and I just bought a new HP Pavilion Gaming laptop and when i started Sim4 it gave me the "Unrecognized video Card". Can someone please help!?. My Device ID.. Vendor: 10de, Device: 1c91, Board: 85fa103c, Chipset: 00a1
@Theonewhobuilds I take if your laptop has an Nvidia 1050? You'll need to edit a file labeled graphicscards.sgr, which is inside the Sims 4 program files. Unless you changed the default install location in Origin, the full path will be:
Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin
Open graphicscards.sgr (use Notepad if asked), and ctrl-F to search for 1c8d. That will take you to these lines:
card 0x1c8c "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti Mobile" $cardLevelUber $resolutionHigh
card 0x1c8d "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile" $cardLevelUber $resolutionHigh
card 0x1D01 "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1030" $cardLevelHigh $resolutionHighChanged the bolded 1c8d to 1c91, save, quit, launch the game, whit, and see whether your card is now recognized. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, open the file labeled config.log, and look for your card name about 25 lines down. If you see a [Found: 1, Supported: 1] value next to the name, you're good. Otherwise, please copy and paste the whole section under Graphics device info, about 15 lines (stop at Options), into a post here.
