URGENT! My game, The Sims 4, lags severely when I plug my laptop charger in.
Okay, there's already two threads about this topic but one was 3 years old, and the other one that I made went unsolved. I don't remember having this problem-- if anything the game would lag when I didn't have the charger plugged in. I have a HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec1xxx, AMD Ryzen 5 4600H with Radeon Graphics processor, and 8GB of RAM. It's a pretty good laptop-- I paid all this money for it to NOT have any of these petty issues. I was told to link my dxdiag and a log to see how my CPU ran, or something, so I'll do that. Please help me solve this! It's recommend that gaming laptops are played with the charger plugged in, otherwise the battery will just drain faster than any other. That's a problem since my game decides to lag. And yes, this happens with or without CC/Mods.
This log is me playing for more than 20 minutes with the laptop plugged in. I showed in the other thread how my CPU and GPU ran and I was told it was not overheating. So that can be scratched off the list.

Please help! I miss playing my game smoothly lol, I dislike being able to play for 20 minutes with my laptop unplugged and my game running smooth with no issues, and then having to plug my laptop up and dealing with lag.. so I really appreciate any help. If I need to upgrade my laptop (RAM, SSD, whatever) or anything like that please don't be hesitant to say that.
You are right, neither your GPU nor your CPU are overheating, but there is still thermal throttling.
The Sensor mentioned (PROCHOT EXT) means that something different then CPU or GPU is overheating or is at least signalling a overheating problem.
That part might be the super input/output circuit or Embedded Controller, but it is not possible to say with certainty which component it is.
Some possibility:
Is this the Original charger of the Laptop?Defect vrms or circuits.
I am afraid this is a case for a professional repair service or the manufacturer of the Laptop.
